About Chris
Hello! I’m Chris Miller, a lighting designer from Detroit, Michigan. My passion stems from sharing my experiences and perspectives with those around me, using light as my medium as an artist. My journey began with an outdoor high school production of Macbeth, where I first experienced the power of lighting in drawing audiences into a narrative. Since then, I’ve continued to explore my passion by pursuing a BFA in Design and Technical Theatre with a concentration in lighting at Wayne State University; I participate in hands-on workshops with industry professionals such as Brian Dambacher and work with professional groups like Shakespeare Royal Oak in Royal Oak, MI.
My design philosophy balances storytelling and spatial transformation. I love collaborating with others to incorporate diverse perspectives, using detailed workbooks, mood boards, and 3D rendering to bring ideas to life. My goal is to create immersive lighting that invites viewers to explore the impact of light in their daily lives.
Beyond lighting, I am inspired by photography, hiking, and exploring coffee shops. Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to collaborating with you!
